The Hustle Culture Trap

Despite our best intentions it's sometimes hard to ignore the nagging voice of hustle culture telling us we need to grind ourselves into the ground to achieve success. Or imposter syndrome whispering in our ear that we need to work harder and harder to make up for not being 'good enough'.

But here is the thing. They are both lying to you. To us.

This narrative we've been fed that burning ourselves out is just a necessary part of being a successful entrepreneur and if we struggle with that? We're made to believe that there is something wrong with us. That we aren't cut out for it.

Let's give you some mindset shifts that will help you let go of this fake news and turn the dial down on the bullsh*t.

Because that's what it is. It's a lie that is holding so many amazing women from reaching their potential, making the impact they are so capable of making and being the change the world needs to see right now.

Neglecting the needs of our bodies and minds is not something we should wear as a badge of honour (despite some big names shouting that on social media…I will point no fingers 😂).

It’s actually a great strength to recognise that this entrepreneurial game is a marathon, not a sprint. To have the energy and resilience to keep going on our journey and adventure, carving our own path in life, we had better be putting our health & well-being first. Otherwise? We won’t make it very far for very long.

So let's dive into those mindset shifts...

🌿 It is not a weakness or a sign anything is wrong with you that you have human needs to have to met in order to function at your best. Needing movement, connection, time in nature, nourishing food and daily rest is absolutely vital to our well-being. You are a human being first, an entrepreneur second.

🌸 We want to work smarter, not harder. By nourishing your body and mind and prioritising your well-being you are boosting your productivity, focus, problem solving skills and the joy and meaning you get out of each day. You can get better more done, and more of it, in less time. Sounds like an all round win to me and good business sense!

☀️ Your worth is not tied to your business, but your well-being is. That is to say, you are worthy just as you are. Regardless of how your business is doing. Your inherent worth as a person does not change. You are always worthy. But your well-being? That is linked to your business. You are the heart beat and soul of your business. For it to be happy, healthy and thriving? It needs for you to be those things too.

Which one resonates the most with you?
